What To Expect

At Strive PT we don’t treat conditions; we treat people.

Our Process

During your first appointment, Dr. Jones will evaluate and diagnose your issue. To do so, she will conduct a series of physical tests and measurements as well as ask you questions about your current symptoms and the history of your problem. She will then create a care plan outlining the scope and frequency of your in-clinic treatments and home exercise program. You’ll spend the remainder of the appointment receiving treatment and training on your home exercises, if applicable. You’ll spend the entirety of this session—and all subsequent sessions—receiving one-on-one care and coaching from your physical therapist.

Do I need to see a physician or obtain a referral prior to my first appointment?

No. The state of Arizona allows patients to access physical therapy without any restrictions or limitations. This means there is no need to obtain a physician referral or prescription prior to beginning your treatment at Strive PT. However, keep in mind that some insurances may require physician involvement in care as a condition of reimbursement. So, if you plan to apply your out-of-network insurance benefits, we’d recommend confirming those requirements with your insurance provider.

What can I expect during my subsequent appointments?

Once you and Dr. Jones establish a care plan, you will attend regular appointments based on the frequency prescribed by her. These appointments will include a mix of manual (i.e., hands-on) therapy and guided exercise. Unlike appointments in many other PT practices, you will spend your entire appointment with your physical therapist. During these appointments, your PT may conduct periodic follow-up tests to assess your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.

Other FAQ

How often will I see my therapist?
The frequency of your in-clinic visits will depend on your specific needs. However, most Strive PT patients come in once or twice a week. (By comparison, most other clinics require patients to attend therapy three or four times per week—but our unique one-on-one treatment model allows us to achieve meaningful results in fewer sessions.)
What should I wear to my appointments?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move without restriction (think gym clothes) as well as comfortable shoes (although you may be required to perform some of your exercises without shoes on). Shorts are preferred for the initial evaluation, especially if you are being evaluated for a lower-extremity problem.
Are you a Medicare provider?
No. Strive PT does not contract with Medicare, which means we cannot provide Medicare-covered therapy services to Medicare beneficiaries. However, we can provide Medicare beneficiaries with health and wellness services on a cash-pay basis.
Do you take insurance?
We are a fully out-of-network practice, and we do not submit claims to any insurance carriers. This means patients are responsible for the full cost of care at the time of service. However, we do provide receipts to patients who wish to submit for reimbursement from their insurance companies on their own. Many patients who choose to apply their out-of-network benefits in this way are able to successfully obtain reimbursement. If you plan to do this, we recommend contacting your insurance provider to learn more about its out-of-network coverage policies and requirements. What are the benefits of being an out-of-network provider?
Being fully out of network allows us to focus on delivering truly patient-focused treatment without being controlled by insurance reimbursement requirements and rates. Such constraints often force therapy providers to schedule multiple patients per hour, which decreases the level of individual attention therapists can provide to each patient. Our unique one-on-one care model, on the other hand, allows patients to achieve better results in fewer visits. Additionally, our flat-rate cash-pay fee structure keeps the cost of care predictable. In other words, you’ll never have to worry about receiving a surprise bill.
What are your rates, and which forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payment in the form of cash, check, credit or debit card, and HSA or FSA card. Pricing is as follows:

  • $180 – First visit of each new case (includes initial evaluation and treatment; typically lasts 75-80 minutes)
  • $100 – Each subsequent treatment visit (typically lasts 60-65 minutes)

“I am a budding 16-year-old with a 26-degree curve in my spine. I’ve been playing soccer since I was 4. When I was 11, I was diagnosed with slight scoliosis, and my mom took me to see Shveta for the first time. I can say with absolute certainty that I am better for having been treated by her."

-Diana G.

“I’ve been seeing Shveta for about six years, and my experience with her has been nothing short of spectacular. She is by far the best PT I have had the pleasure of working with, and I’ve had many sports injuries and resulting surgeries. She cares for your whole body, not just the targeted area. Truly a great patient experience!”

-Diana G.

“Shveta gently nudges you forward when you are ready to give up. She understands your frustrations and celebrates your successes. She listens to her clients and makes a personal connection with each of them. Her skills are beyond excellent.”

-Sue B.
